The Pee Dee AHEC Health Professions Student Program provides community-based training experiences, exposing students to the opportunities of working in rural and underserved areas of South Carolina.

Services overview

Health Professions Students (HPS) are students who are currently enrolled in health professions graduate programs. The Pee Dee AHEC Health Professions Students (HPS) Coordinators work closely with health profession degree programs from universities and colleges in South Carolina. The HPS Coordinators facilitate the placement of students in clinical rotations with preceptors, primarily in the rural and underserved areas within the Pee Dee region. This service bridges the gap between the university/college classroom setting and the clinical training site experiences.
